The City of Saugatuck today announced the launch of its new improved website.
Erin Wilkinson, the City's new Clerk who started the end of August, initiated and developed the site herself using much of her own photography. Wilkinson collaborated with local photographer Kim Zahnow on the project. Wilkinson said “whether you call Saugatuck home or are just visiting, this new website is designed to connect you with the community. At this moment in time, it was important to use and showcase local talent. We have to support one-another! It is a privilege to have an artist of Kim Zahnow's caliber contribute photography to the site, and it so beautifully demonstrates the authenticity and heart of our community."
The new site features links to city departments and staff along with dedicated pages providing detailed descriptions and maps of Saugatuck’s many city parks and the famous Oval Beach.
Other major improvements to the website include a collection of new online forms, a user-friendly calendar for the city’s boards and commissions, and links to other important city services and amenities.
City staff, including seasonal staff at Oval Beach, will be given broader access to the website making it possible to keep information on current conditions and parking lot status more up to date.
The new website has also been designed to work well with mobile devices and offers better integration with social media platforms.
